Worthy of Love

I want to share with you guys a story from my personal walk with Jesus.

I was saved when I was 9 year old but I never knew to pursue a relationship with God until I was in my teens. When I started my freshman year of high school, I was goth/punk, wore a dog collar, and spiked my black hair with Elmer’s glue. Not exactly a picture of a godly girl.

I had a lot of self-image issues. I, like many 13 year old girls, thought I was unattractive and worthless. What did I have to offer anyone? Nothing, and I was nothing, no one would miss me if I feel off the face of the earth (not to mention suicidal thoughts).

These self demeaning emotions overwhelmed me everyday, until Jesus told me what my name meant. I was going through a box of junk and I found an art print that had my name and its definition-

Worthy of Love

It stopped me in my tracks. I couldn’t believe that is what my name meant. I didn’t think I was worthy of anything, above all love. My heart had ached for this message, it needed to hear it so desperately. I don’t remember crying so hard before that my life; it was a purging cry where a lot of the self hatred and image issues left me.

That day, God very personally taught me about my self worth and how he sees me. My eyes were a little brighter after that, my smile a little bigger, and my heart a little stronger.

Many of us have stories about pivotal moments in our walk with God, what’s yours?

I'm a wife to a hard working man and a mama of four little adorable boys. We live near Portland, Oregon and we love it. Portland has a great vibe and we love sharing the good news of the gospel with the people here.

I'm a stay at home mom first, then a work at home mom. The kids have to come first. I love people, hiking, coffee, converse, and Jesus. I also love coffee. And another favorite thing of mine is coffee. :) If you like coffee, we should be friends.

My one ridiculous dream I'd really like to come true is to collect one of every Starbucks mug that is related to a city or country.

Have a blessed day!

      1. We just grew closer to God as He showed us incredible love in the midst of our pain. I got to know God in way that I hadn’t experienced before.
